I was given some options but told the booking would need to be made by the following day before midnight as a particular special would be ending then. I went back the next day to book the flight but the girl who was helping me was busy.
I left The itinerary with her and she said she would call me before the end of the day. Just after 5 pm I called their office and the girl said she forgot because she was Extremely busy during the day! I commented that the special would be ending today and she apologised simply saying she was sorry. Not good enough for a paying client who is going to be spending thousands and thousands of dollars.
Stay away from Flight Centre Rosebay. We desperately wanted midship and she knew this. I hate giving bad reviews, but when you get bad customer service, it's a bad experience, you just have to share. This is what personally happened to me.

So many problems afterwards when asking FC what we can do? Our problems are still not solved, 2 months later. Sure, after many heated discussions about an over charge for a transfer which was supposed to be free from Warwick Hotel Geneva to the Airport, Axxxxxxxxx just kept passing the buck saying 'i can't help you'. She could help us but didn't want to because someone else got the commission for that job! It didn't stop there, for this reason alone i won't be recommending them, nor using them again, 1st time we used them and the last!
So, they booked us with Emirates, we had problems, as stated above. They also booked us with Insight tours.
Insight tours damaged and snapped a wheel off of my suit case. Insight accepted responsibility and filled in a form to claim back out of pocket expenses [see review about Insight tours for story] but said it will take some 6 - 8 weeks for customer service to get in touch with you to resolve the issue. I asked Customer Service at Flight Centre could they please step in and offer a 'push' to get the ball rolling faster and i was told, 'it's not our problem, you need to deal with them'.
All in all, i do not recommend Flight Centre, because of their useless, careless attitude. We wish to book a European River Cruise and New Zealand cruise sometime in the next 5 years, guess who we won't be using! Required 4 flights throughout the trip. We would have booked hotels and hire cars as well, but the girl was only interested in helping us with flights.
Of course we only found this out after we locked in and paid for flights. We booked for 2 adults and a not yet 2 year old, but the flight being 14h we wanted to have her own seat. It all seemed easy to begin with, but it turned out the airways wouldnt deal with us directly as we had not booked the flights.
When we tried to get the girl from Flight Centre to contact them on our behalf, her out of office was on, directly us to call not email one of her colleagues. This was near impossible being the 19h time difference and being in a different country. She did not book child meals for our not yet 2 year old, who was expected to eat normal airplane food. The flights she booked were not flexible at all, despite that being in the pre-brief of requirements.
She said she couldnt get the three of us seats together, and we would just have to get to each airport early to ensure that we could be seated together.
I had convinced my husband to use a travel agent because it would make it easier. Turns out, it just made it harder and you have no flexibility built in and no ability to take control of your trip when flight centre let you down. They have no ability to think beyond credit cards and taking your money, despite being blunt about what you are after. I got a refund for a cancelled glught by part gift card part eftpos after being in hold for over an hour. Two weeks later I haven't received my eftpos refund. After a further 30mins on hold this evening I was told it hadn't been processed.
No apology for their error just that if it isn't in my bank in 10 days to contact my bank not them. Apalling customer service snd unacceptable wait times for a premium rate number. I had booked a travel from Australia to the US with another travel agency. They did not put my name correctly on the ticket and refused to adjust the mistake.
I had to cancel the flight at a great cost and went with Flight centre. To my surprise they knew all details such as getting the given name and middle name in the correct places on the ticket. The price was reasonable and the Flight centre staff member got at length to accommodate my specific wishes for dates and times I understand that was a bit difficult. I will use Flight centre next time again. Your trust is our top concern.
Companies can't alter or remove reviews from ProductReview. You can work out a detailed itinerary or just wing it according to the time you have and your travel style. We have taken many trips to Europe and it is very easy to see on your own. Nowadays you can take an unlocked smart phone, get a cheap SIM and find places to stay or eat and get road directions easily. It's a bit like those annoying river cruise ads that are on TV at the moment. Some friends of ours in Europe at the moment and just booked direct on the web and are saving thousands of dollars.
Flight centre will only recommend tours, airlines etc that they receive good commissions from. I seem to remember she got a great deal with a first class return trip to the UK on emirates at a travel expo. From all of these great responses, I'm wondering whether its best to shop around for flights and get FC to match them It's a long way to go, so we're thinking of splurging on Premium Economy or even Business Class if we could get an amazing deal. Do these deals happen in conjunction with expos, or am I better just to keep an eye on the airlines websites??
Unless you plan way ahead of time you may and probably will fall in the overbooking nightmare that always occurs during EXPOs. Everyone can dedicate enough time and book ahead at a good price but there are niche agencies that provide accommodation at a price for the super busy periods for way less than you could otherwise get, because they reserve entire hotel floors years in advance - in the end everyone wins.
In short sort your travel logistics by yourself the is the best AND cheapest way to go but be smart about it when booking hotels as you can miss out on deals that are WIN-WIN for everyone.
